The theme of the 2025 Iowa Water Conference is “Life Depends on Water. Water Depends on You.” Creating a resilient water cycle is critical and relies on a systems approach, recognizing the connection between water, soil, and all living things. As water professionals and community members, we all play a part in protecting our waters.

The 19th annual Iowa Water Conference will be held on September 9-10, 2025, at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

Last year, 43 sessions were provided during the conference. The planning committee would like to provide another robust set of presentations and invites individuals and groups to submit conference abstracts addressing how individuals and communities evaluate and protect Iowa’s precious natural water sources.

Focus areas for the 2025 conference are:

  • Water and Agriculture
  • Water and Health
  • Stormwater/Urban Water
  • Water Quantity
  • Water Science Communication
  • Water and Recreation

A general poster session is also open for researchers, water professionals, and students to showcase current projects to conference attendees. Posters should address the theme and a focus area of the 2025 event.

To submit a presentation or poster, please visit the Iowa Water Conference website. Presentation proposals will be accepted through April 30th. The deadline for posters is August 22nd.

Please check the conference portal frequently as more details are shared regarding the venue, hotels, agenda, and sponsorship opportunities.
