Statewide Research Competitive Grants Program

The Iowa Water Center’s statewide research competitive grants program is the Center’s longest running activity and the priority of our base funding (104(b)) from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Each year, the IWC Advisory Board and staff release a call for proposals to address the most pressing Iowa water resource concerns. The projects listed on this page have been funded through this program, with matching funds coming from state sources, making this program a true state-federal partnership.

For a searchable database of projects funded throughout the country by statewide programs run through Water Resources Research Institutes, please visit the USGS Annual Base grants page. Information about applying for this program can be found on our Funding Opportunities page.
